SECURITY SHOULD NEVER BE POLITICISED

The YEYE DARA OMOLUABI Media Committee wishes to commend the unwavering commitment of Chief Sunday Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho) and all well-meaning individuals who continue to champion the security of lives and property across Yorubaland.

At a time when our communities continue to face the challenges of kidnapping, banditry, and violent crimes, every genuine effort aimed at protecting innocent citizens deserves encouragement rather than needless controversy. Security is a collective responsibility and must remain above politics, ethnicity, or personal interests.

We are concerned by the growing trend of politicising initiatives intended to safeguard our people. While constructive dialogue and lawful oversight are essential in any democratic society, attempts to discredit or frustrate sincere security efforts for political gain only weaken our collective fight against criminality.

We therefore call on leaders, stakeholders, and members of the public to place the safety of our people above political differences. Let us support every lawful initiative that contributes to peace, security, and the preservation of lives and property.

The security of Yorubaland is a shared responsibility. History will remember those who stood up to defend their people—not those who stood in the way.

Signed:

YEYE DARA OMOLUABI Media Committee
